I am really excited to have learned about a new site that has been created by Chase Jarvis and nearly 20 other creative minds.  Its called CreativeLIVE.  This new site is really amazing, it allows anyone to access this free creative education from anywhere, all you need is the free time, and an internet connection.

The second annual Worldwide Photowalk is just about here.  This year there are 914 walks happening all over the globe.  You can be apart of one right here in East Lansing!  I will be hosting (leading) this years’ Photowalk in East Lansing on Saturday July 18th, 2009 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.  We will be walking around the beautiful campus of Michigan State University as well as Grand River Avenue in the hopes of getting some great images and meeting other photographers.

What is a Photowalk? A photowalk is just a social gathering for photographers of all skill levels to get together and share their passion for photography while walking around shooting images for a set amount of time in a certain location.

Just a quick note, I will be teaching a two day course for Photoshop CS3 Basics.  This course is set to run from February 26-27th, 2009.

Photoshop CS3 – Basics 1

Harness the power of the most powerful image-editing software available! Adobe PhotoShop is the standard for professionals in the graphic arts industry but you can learn to use it too! This hands-on workshop includes an overview of the many features and tools in Photoshop including the workspace, image modes & file formats, selection tools and raster & vector shape tools. Class activities will cover the creation of composite images and special effects using layers, text, filters and painting & drawing tools. The topic of color and image adjustment is also introduced.

When it comes to creating or enhancing digital artwork, Adobe PhotoShop offers infinite possibilities. Whether you’ve just covered the basics or are a seasoned pro, the Basics 2 Photoshop class has something for you. This class will focus on increased efficiency and workflow as more advanced Photoshop features, shortcuts and automated actions are explored. Class activities also include optimizing images for the web, color management techniques and preparing images for cross-platform viewing.
